Ystad

Ayer fuimos a Ystad un pueblo bonito a 50kms al sur de Lund en la costa opuesta a Polonia. Tiene muchas casas antiguas como las que véis en las fotos. El tiempo era muy bueno, un poco frio, pero muy bueno. Asi que fuimos a ver el "Stonehenge" de Suecia a 10kms de Ystad en la costa. Las piedras son enormes y están puestas con la forma de un barco y tiene una orientación oeste-este. Como las piedras de Stonehenge las de Ales Stennar no proceden del area en el que están.

Yesterday we went to Ystad a town about 50kms to the south of Lund situated on the coast of Sweden which is opposite to Poland. It is quite a nice wee town that has many old style buildings that you can see in the photos. Since the weather was so good we decided to visit the standing stones at Ales Stennar which is the Stonehenge of Sweden, or so they say. The stones sit in top of cliffs overlooking the sea and are formed in the shape of a ship. Just like Stonehenge non of the stones comes from the local area.

Nuevo coche/New Car

Ya tenemos un nuevo coche y seguramente no os extrañe que sea un Volvo - que es el coche de elección para los suecos. Aquí tenéis Lucia detras del volante orgullosa de haber conducido por primera vez en Suecia. Es muy grande pero aquí toda la gente tiene coches muy grandes y la mayoría son coches familiares. Tiene casi 10 años pero confiamos que nos sirva al menos 5 años más.

Here is a picture of Lucia proudly driving our new car. It looks quite fancy but in fact it is quite old, nearly 10 years, but it goes ok. The young people in Sweden say you have to avoid the 3 V's to avoid entering middle ages; "Villa" which is a house, aVolvo car, and "Vovve" which is a doggy. We now have 1 of the 3 so we are well on the road. Don't think Tosca will appreciate the dog though.
